Redefining norms: what extreme
Redefining norms: what extreme users teach us about designDesigning for extreme users requires a profound sense of empathy to identify hidden needs and address unique challenges. This often involves considering groups that are physically vulnerable and need additional care and support. This article bridges my previous design work and research with insights from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) AgeLab and its AGNES (Age Gain Now Empathy System).Additionally, it draws inspiration from the Biosuit and Astronaut Protection System, a groundbreaking collaboration by Dava Newman, Michal Kracik, Jeff Hoffman, and the Dainese Company. These innovations have set new standards in creating functional, flexible, and adaptive space suits that act as a “second skin,” opening new possibilities for outer space travel.I am grateful to Patrick Abbattista, Founder and CEO of DesignWanted, and his team for their support in co-editing and publishing this reflection.Article link: Liên kết đến trang web của viện công nghệ Massachusetts (MIT)
